Chapter 9

Chastity

Water drips from my skin, and I feel heat tease through me as his arms wrap around my body. The steam from the shower clouds the small bathroom, but when I look up into his eyes, I can see clearly.

…I can see more clearly than maybe I’m even ready to see.

Because this man ignites something inside of me — something wild and fierce. Part of it feels like he’s the gasoline to the fire I’ve always had blazing inside of me. Part of it feels like he’s the spark that sets the whole thing roaring.

Whatever it is though, I can’t push it away. I can’t pretend it’s not there, or that this is just some random bar fling. Whatever this is, it’s a lot bigger than that, and it both scares me and gets me going at the same time.

Showering with someone you’re handcuffed to is, well, interesting. Showering with someone you’re handcuffed to who looks like him, and who just screwed you so good you almost thought you’d go cross-eyed? Well, that’s just plain fun. The fact that we literally had to cut one sleeve off of his shirt and use some tricky yoga-looking moves to get mine off certainly didn’t hurt.

He goes to pull a towel around me, and both of us swear as it gets tangled in the handcuff chain.

“You really don’t have a backup key?”

“A bunch, actually. This has all just been part of my master plan to seduce you into my cabin hideout. You got me.”

He grins and I roll my eyes. But suddenly, he’s pulling me against him, my wet body molding to his. My pulse races, and I can feel my nipples puckering to points and dragging across his muscled chest.

“Okay, no more bullshit,” he growls quietly. “What’s your name?”

I laugh. Yeah, somehow, I’ve just taken a shower with this man, after fucking him for the second time, and after robbing a meth house with him — all fairly intimate things — and I still don’t even know his name. Part of me is tempted to keep that going, and to just never let reality take this utter craziness back into the real world, but I let that go.

With the way I’m feeling about my rough, wild cowboy? Yeah, I want to know his name. I want to know it so that I can moan it later.

“What’s yours?”

“Shepherd. Shepherd Bronson.” His eyes dart over mine, one brow arching like he’s looking for recognition. “The Shepherd Bronson.”

I giggle. “I mean, should I know you?”

He sighs. “You don’t really follow rodeo do you?”

I snort. “No.”

Shepherd grins. “Fair enough. Now spill. Who are you, princess?”

“Chastity,” I say quietly. “Chastity Huntington.”

If he recognizes the last name, he doesn’t show it. And I want to admonish myself. Heck, I didn’t know his name from his world. How presumptuous is it that I think he’d know mine from my world?

Instead, he just smirks.

“What?”

“Chastity?”

I glare at him. “Yes?”

“No, it’s just…you know, not the name I’d have guessed for a girl like you.
